The County Clerk is a county-wide elected official with a four year term.
The County Clerk’s position is held by Tami (Renfro) Owens. Mrs. Owens took office for her first term as County Clerk on January 2, 2019. Before being elected as the County Clerk, she was a Real Estate Broker.
The county clerk is responsible for County Elections and Voter Registration.

As the Local Election Authority of Newton County Missouri she is responsible for administering all local & County Elections, initiative petitions, and making known the rules governing elections and electronic voting systems.
